RULE III – RECIPROCITY

→The applicant is licensed in a state which has Reciprocity with Alabama (Rule III, Rules  Governing Admission).

NON-RESIDENT OF ALABAMA OR a RESIDENT who has submitted an application to another jurisdiction.

→ The applicant has been admitted, filed an application, or registered as a student in another jurisdiction. 
→ The applicant may or may not be a resident of Alabama.

FOREIGN-EDUCATION OR FOREIGN-LICENSED ATTORNEY

$1075

 

→ Applicant's first law degree was not obtained in the U.S., whether or not a subsequent U.S. law degree was conferred; OR
→ Current or former member of a bar of a foreign country.

FIRST TIME BAR APPLICANT AND a RESIDENT OF ALABAMA

$475

 

→The applicant has not been admitted, filed a prior application, or registered as a student in another jurisdiction.
→To qualify as a resident you must have a current Alabama Driver License

RE-APPLICANT AND a RESIDENT of ALABAMA

$475

→The applicant filed a prior Bar Application with the Alabama State Bar within the past 5 years AND
→ The applicant has not filed in another jurisdiction AND
→The applicant owes bar fees since the last filing with the Alabama State Bar
