1) Why do I have to log in with a User ID and Password?
Parts of this site are built especially for our members, so we want to ensure that only you are accessing your personal membership information. The Alabama State Bar recognizes the need to provide a safe and secure means of accessing the site. We have numerous safeguards in place to ensure that our members’ privacy and confidentiality are well protected.
How to Create a User ID and Password: Please enter the information below to create your unique User ID and Password. Enter your eight character Bar ID omitting the ASB and the dashes. If your Bar ID is ASB-1234-D15Z, enter only 1234D15Z. Note that the fifth and last character of your Bar ID is a letter. If your Bar ID looks like 2222I33O, then the fifth character is the letter "i" not the number 1 and the last character is the letter "o" not the number zero.
Your User ID is not case-sensitive and neither is your Password. They should each be 5-15 characters in length and may include symbol characters but can not include spaces. Once you've established your User ID, it cannot be changed. You may change your Password, however, as often as you wish. You may update your Password and other information at any time by logging in and using the appropriate links in our navigation bar. We strongly recommend that you retain a copy of all of your registration information in case you need to refer to it in the future.
How to Log In: Click on the “Login” link at the top right of the Home page. You will need to enter your User ID and Password and click on the “Login” to access the member-only sections of our site.
2) What do I do if I forget my User ID or Password?
If you forget your User ID or Password enter your e-mail address and Bar ID in the form below, then click the Submit button. You will receive two emails containing your login information.
For security reasons we will not send both the User ID and Password in a single email.
If your member record does not include an e-mail address you need to contact the Membership Department:
The Alabama State Bar uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to provide members with additional security when sending sensitive data such as User ID’s and Passwords over the Web.
