State Bar President J. Mark White of Birmingham (White Arnold & Dowd P.C.) issued the following statement today regarding the announced decision of Alabama Supreme Court Justice Sue Bell Cobb not to run for the Democratic nomination for governor.

“Chief Justice Sue Bell Cobb has provided dynamic and valuable leadership for Alabama’s judicial branch of government. The fact she was encouraged by some to consider leading another branch of government is a tribute to her many talents. I know she applied the same thoughtful, prayerful, consideration to this opportunity she applies to the critical matters she faces constantly as chief justice.”
