Bess graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2004. She graduated from Lundy-Fetterman School of Business with a Master of Business Administration, with distinction in 2001 and summa cum laude from Campbell University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2001. Bess is a partner in the firm’s Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy Group. She is admitted to the Georgia and Alabama state bars and the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama, Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia and Northern District of Florida.
Bess has held several speaking engagements and been published multiple times. She is a member of the American Bar Association, The Georgia Bar, Maritime Law Association, Mobile Bar Association, Mobile Volunteer Lawyer Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges Next Generation Planning Committee, as well as the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers. She is involved in Lifelines Family Counseling, American Heart Association, Leadership Mobile, Mobile United member, Dauphin Way United Methodist Church choir, multiple committees at Burr & Forman’s Charitable Committee, and has been involved with Habitat for Humanity, Wills on Wheels, and Everybody Wins! – an Atlanta Reading Tutor.
