Tripp graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2002 and cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee in 1999. Tripp is an associate general counsel at the Alabama State Bar.
During law School, Tripp received the Outstanding Achievement Award for American Labor Law History, was a member of the Law Review, and was a participant in the Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program Clinic. At University of the South, Tripp was Omicron Delta Kappa Circle President, on the varsity baseball team (Captain 1998, 1999), Student Body Representative of the University Committee on Athletics, a Proctor in the Residential Life Program, and recipient of the Baldwin Academic Scholarship. Tripp has been a participant in the Bar’s Volunteer Lawyer Program, a member of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Alabama Association for Justice, and is a past member of the executive board of the Montgomery County Bar’s Young Lawyers Section. He has been involved with Emerge Montgomery and the Montgomery Auburn Club, and is one of the Friends of the Cloverdale Playhouse (theater). He has been active in local sporting events, and served as a volunteer instructor at camps at the Montgomery Miracle League (Baseball Facility for Disabled Youth and Adults). He is licensed in the United States Districts Courts for Middle, Northern, and Southern District of Alabama.
