Denise graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2007 and from Auburn University with a bachelors in History and a minor in Criminology in 2004. Denise represents law income residents of northeast Alabama in various civil matters for Alabama Legal Services.
While at the University of Alabama School of Law, Denise had internships and clerkships at the University as Research Assistant for Professor Caryl Yzenbaard, Elder Law Clinic; Baldwin County Commissioner’s office as Law Clerk to Hon. Callie Granade, Externship program. Denise has spoken to various groups on parenting, mortgage, insurance, elderly, etc.
She has coordinated a Law Day clinic, assisted homeless individuals with legal needs, and was co-chair for LSA’s Consumer and Housing Advocacy Practice Group. Prior to coming to LSA, Denise was employed by Cory, Watson, Crowder & DeGaris, PC and Carr, Allison, Pugh, Howard, Oliver & Sisson. Her social and community involvement includes the Etowah County Bar Association, Gadsden Service Guild member, character portrayer for a Forrest Cemetery Fundraiser, Habitat for Humanity Dragon Boat Fundraiser (Team Drummer), supporter of the Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts and a member of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.
