National Conference of Bar Examiners Application Instructions
If the applicant is not a resident of Alabama or if the applicant filed, sat for and/or passed the bar in another state, a Request for Preparation of a Character Report from National Conference of Bar Examiners must be submitted with the Alabama State Bar application.
Complete an application for a Request for Preparation of a Character Report (Standard-01) from the National Conference of Bar Examiners by choosing ONE of the following options. These links will take you to the National Conference of Bar Examiner's Web site. Complete the entire application. After printing a hard copy of the application, you will be required to sign and have notarized the necessary forms.
Option 1: Complete the application online by clicking on the following link:
www.ncbex.org/ea/index2.html. After completing the entire application, submit it electronically to the NCBE. Print a hard copy, sign it in the presence of a notary and mail the signed copy to the Alabama State Bar.
Option 2: Download, print and complete a blank application by clicking on the following link:
www.ncbex.org/character/Standard01.htm.
- THE ALABAMA STATE BAR MUST RECEIVE A HARD COPY OF THE NCBE'S REQUEST FOR PREPARATION OF A CHARACTER REPORT (STANDARD-01) BEFORE PROCESSING OF THE ALABAMA STATE BAR APPLICATION BEGINS.
- SUBMIT ONLY ONE FEE, $600.00. THE NCBE APPLICATION FEE IS INCLUDED IN THE $600.00 BAR FEE.
