The Pledge of Professionalism: After All These Years, It Still Makes Sense

Are you one of the 12 per cent?
In the past six months, more than 2,000 ASB members have taken the Pledge of Professionalism (hence the 12 percent). We'd like to increase that number and here's how you can help: take the pledge, subscribe to its principles and live it.

The pledge is posted on the ASB Web site, making it convenient and easy for you to add your name to the Pledge of Professionalism Honor Roll. Here's how to do it:

If you have already created a User ID and Password:

1. Go to www.alabar.org and roll your mouse over the pull-down menu at the far right titled, "About the Bar."

2. Click on "Pledge of Professionalism."

3. If you have not taken the pledge, you will be asked to read it and then click the button that says, "Take the Pledge."

4. You will then be able to see your name automatically listed in the honor roll.

5. If you have already taken the pledge, you will see a message thanking you for taking it (your name was automatically listed in the honor roll).

If you have not yet created a User ID and Password:

1. Go to www.alabar.org/service/Pledge.cfm.

2. At the top of the page you will see "Click here to use the log-in procedure." Follow all of the prompts.

3. You will be taken to the Member Control Panel where you will see "Pledge of Professionalism." Click on it.

4. You will be asked to read the pledge and click the button that says, "Take the Pledge."

5. You will be able to see your name automatically listed in the Honor Roll.
