Casemaker Training Now Available

Three different ways to get it
Alabama State Bar members now have three different ways to get free training for Casemaker, the ASB member benefit which provides free online legal research.

Individual training through webinars
For individual training, Casemaker provides live webinars once a week on Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. Central time for novice users who would like to get an overview of Casemaker, including what the library contains and how to use it. To sign up for the live training, log in to Casemaker through the Alabama State Bar's website. Once you're in Casemaker, select the Help tab and click the Free Live Training button at the bottom of the Help page to see the training schedule and sign up for a webinar on any of the dates listed.

Training videos
There are also short, pre-recorded training videos that members can access to obtain either an overview of the research service or to get answers to specific questions, such as how to perform a case law search, determine library currency, print cases or purchase legal forms. At the bottom of the Casemaker Help page, select the button for Recorded Videos and start the video stream. You may view the video from start to finish or click on the links to the left of the video viewing screen and select the topic in which you're interested. You'll be taken right to that topic.

Finally, the staff of the Alabama State Bar Practice Management Assistance Program will be glad to schedule a Casemaker Training Roadshow for CLE credit for any county or city bar association that would like to have one.
