Notice of and Opportunity for Comment on Amendments to the Rules of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit

Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. §§ 2071(b), notice and opportunity for comment is hereby given of proposed amendments to the Rules of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

A copy of the proposed amendments may now be obtained from www.ca11.uscourts.gov. A copy may also be obtained without charge from the Office of the Clerk, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, 56 Forsyth St., N.W., Atlanta 30303, (404) 335-6100. Comments on the proposed amendments may be submitted in writing to the Clerk at the above address by December 31, 2009.

The United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit invites applications from qualified persons for the position of Clerk of Court, appointed under the provisions of Section 711 of title 28 of the U.S. Code. This senior level executive position is the court's principal case processing and records manager, who also has broad responsibility for personnel, budget, space and facilities, and management information. An applicant must possess at least a bachelor's degree and should hold an advanced degree in law, public administration or other related field. Applicants need to send a resume and a letter outlining the applicant's background and qualifications and a self-edited writing sample of no more than five pages to HR Manager, 56 Forsyth Street, NW, Atlanta 30303, so as to arrive not later than December 11, 2009. The salary range for this position is $156,734-$162,900 depending upon qualifications. The selected candidate will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment. Amendment of Rules 16, 26, 33(c), 34, 45, and Form 51A, and Adoption of Rule 37(g), Alabama Rules of Civil Procedure
The Alabama Supreme Court has amended rules 16, 26, 33(c), 34, 45, and Form 51A, Alabama Rules of Civil Procedure, and adopted Rule 37(g), Alabama Rules of Civil Procedure. The amendment and adoption of these rules are effective February 1, 2010. The order amending rules 16, 26, 33(c), 34, 45, and Form 51A and adopting Rule 37(g) appears in an advance sheet of Southern Reporter dated on or about December 31, 2009. These comprehensive revisions are to accommodate the discovery of electronically-stored information. The text of these rules can be found at http://www.judicial.state.al.us/rules.cfm.
