This section is open to members of the plaintiffs and defense bar who are interested or involved in the ever-broadening interface between law and health care, including but not limited to various state and federal issues such as Medicare fraud and abuse, payment problems, merger and acquisition of health care entities, antitrust, fiscal management, peer review, provider malpractice, individual rights and Supreme Court actions. Dues are $15 per year.
"Casemaker" is a link to the Casemaker online legal research library and information on how to use this valuable free member service, which provides access to state and federal materials including the Alabama Code, opinions of the Alabama Supreme Court and Courts of Civil and Criminal Appeals, the Alabama Rules of Court, the Alabama Administrative Code and regulations, the U.S. Code, U.S. Supreme Court opinions, selected opinions of the federal circuit and district courts, the federal court rules, the Code of Federal Regulation and similar materials from all 50 states.
"Governance" contains the section's governing documents including the purpose statement and bylaws when available.
"Leadership" contains information from the section's leadership including the section officers, section council, committee chairs, and meeting minutes when available.

The Health Law Section has created a discussion forum comprised of four sub-groups, each one focusing on a specific area of practice: (1) regulatory, (2) litigation, (3) hospitals, (4) physicians and other providers. Members are automatically subscribed to all four sub-groups. Participation in the Forum is optional and only available to section members.
