Mid-Year Meeting Registration

Registration for our Mid-Year Meeting, the first in more than 30 years, will go live on our website this week. It's set for Wednesday, Jan. 22 through Thursday, Jan. 23 at The Lodge at Gulf State Park, and it will be in conjunction with the judges. Board of Bar Commissioners Recap

The BBC met Friday at the bar building in Montgomery. Among the voting items, commissioners approved a design for an ASB license plate as well as a long list of new member benefits including new discounts from Hertz, UPS, Office Depot and Orangetheory. Gov. Kay Ivey Issues Commendation for Alabama State Bar Member Colonel Harold Howell

Last week, Gov. Ivey recognized Colonel Harold Howell in a commendation for his service to the state. Colonel Howell, a WWII veteran and Purple Heart recipient, was admitted to practice law in Alabama on Sept. 15, 1949, and he is still a member at age 97. He has practiced law in Autauga County for 70 years. We add our congratulations for this honor, and thank Colonel Howell for this service to the law and our country!

Public Notice for Appointment of United States Magistrate Judge

The Judicial Conference of the United States has authorized the appointment of a full-time United States Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama in Montgomery. This position will be available to be filled on Aug. 1, 2020. Magistrate Judge Application forms may be obtained on the U.S. District Court's website.
