Feb. 28 from 12 to 1 p.m.\nRegister here \nMark your calendars for a free 60-minute CLE\, sponsored by the ASB Quality of Life\, Health\, and Wellness Committee. This presentation will provide education\, skills\, and resources on working with individuals and clients with trauma histories with speaker L. Graham Bufford\, LPC\, NCC\, BC-TMH. \nOur speaker\, L. Graham Bufford\, LPC\, NCC\, BC-TMH\, attained his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree in 2015\, and gained his Master of Arts in Counseling in 2018\, both from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While finishing his masters\, Graham served in the Zeta Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota\, Phi Kappa Phi\, and was a Glenda R. Elliot Scholarship recipient. Currently\, he is pursuing his doctorate of behavioral health (DBH) from Arizona State University and is set to graduate in 2026. Graham has worked with a diverse set of individuals and groups and believes in the spirit of collaboration and the power of hope. His specialties include Christian discipleship counseling\, addiction/substance use\, marriage/couples\, severe/persistent mental illness\, corrections\, family systems\, depression\, anxiety\, and complex trauma-informed care. He has served in private practice\, integrated healthcare teams\, program/protocol development/implementation/evaluation\, and facility/staff oversight. Graham is a published author as well as a certified John Maxwell Team Member (JMT) speaker\, teacher\, and coach. Graham is a Clinical Certified Trauma Professional and currently works with individuals\, families\, and children who have a trauma histories in both group and individual settings at Integrative Health Services in Pelham\, AL. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Free Zoom CLE: Beating the Burnout:  Strategies for Finding Joy in your Legal Career (and Life) Again
DESCRIPTION:March 12\, 2024 from 12 to 1 p.m.\nRegister here \nDr. Megan Hays is an associate professor and licensed clinical psychologist in the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine. Dr. Hays received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of South Florida and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in rehabilitation psychology in the UAB Heersink School of Medicine Department of PM&R. She is board certified in the specialty of rehabilitation psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and is a fellow of the American Association for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. She also serves on the board of directors for the American Board of Rehabilitation Psychology and the American Association for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. In addition to Dr. Hays’ clinical practice – which involves the psychological assessment and treatment of adults with a wide range of medical trauma – she serves as the Director of Education for the UAB Medicine Office of Wellness. In this role she supports the UAB Medicine community by providing a variety of wellness services and developing wellness programming and resources for employees. Dr. Hays received the UAB Dean’s Excellence Award in Service for her work focused on the wellbeing of healthcare workers. \nLearning Objectives:  \n\nIdentify the multilevel factors that contribute to burnout and distress in lawyers.\nUnderstand signs of burnout and distress in yourself as well as colleagues.\nLearn evidence-based strategies for managing stress and burnout related to the workplace to improve overall well-being.\nExplore practical tips for finding joy in your job again while working in a helping profession during challenging times.\n\n  \n  \n
