He uses his diverse practice experience to turn legal issues into opportunities in the areas of personal\, small business\, and nonprofit law; corporate general counsel; lawyer discipline; complex litigation; alternative dispute resolution; higher education; environmental law; and government relations and ethics. He operates Alabama Mediation Training where he prepares mediators for civil as well as domestic mediation practices. Cooper earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama in 1990. He earned his B.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He currently serves on the Alabama Supreme Court Commission on Dispute Resolution and he is a registered mediator with the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution.

DESCRIPTION:The Pro Bono Month Celebration Task Force is launching the inaugural Pro Bono Book Club. The book club discussions would take place via Zoom from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Tuesdays in October. This year’s book selection is “A Knock at Midnight” by Brittany Barnett. It is a moving and fantastic read. SUMMARY:Law Student Pro Bono Pledge
DESCRIPTION:Alabama’s five law schools have joined together to encourage their students to take the Pro Bono Pledge during Pro Bono Month 2021. The school have joined together on a website that allows law students to commit to include time each year to render service to their communities through activities such as volunteering\, mentoring\, participating in legal clinics\, working in public interest or public service and providing legal services to those in need. \nThe law schools compete to see which school will have the highest percentage of first year student take the Pro Bono Pledge.
