Purpose + Scope

This task force shall evaluate all existing membership benefits and all future membership benefit offers, and make a recommendation to the Board of Bar Commissioners whether to approve such offers.


The task force shall work to prepare a standard Request for Proposal (RFP) form to be forwarded to any person or entity requesting the State Bar consider a product or service.


This task force shall prepare a membership benefits survey and distribute the results to the Executive Committee with its recommendations.  As a part of this report, the Task Force shall from time to time make known to the Executive Committee if gaps exist in members’ expectations and the Bar’s actual offerings.


The task force shall also review existing criteria for vetting membership benefit proposals and make such recommendations as appropriate for ‘best practices’.


No later than May 1, 2017, the task force shall determine if it will recommend the task force be a permanent standing committee of the Bar, or remain as a task force for another year.


The task force shall elect from its membership a secretary who shall be responsible for a written record of all its actions. The secretary shall keep minutes of all meetings of the task force and a copy of the original of the minutes shall be filed with Department of External Affairs after each meeting or conference upon request.


The task force shall meet at the call of the chair. The Alabama State Bar, through its designated staff liaison, will assist the task force in carrying out its purpose.
