Purpose & Scope

In recent years, significant changes to workers’ compensation laws, policies and procedures have identified the need to fortify the connection between workers’ compensation and continued efforts to reduce injury and illness in the workplace.

The Task Force will combine lawyers, legislators and judges, who represent all areas of workers’ compensation law. It is the intent to include any and all stake holders in all areas of workers’ compensation to review how Alabama deals with these issues in our state.

This task force will also compare Alabama laws to other similarly situated state laws.

The task force shall address the inadequacy of the current system and provide recommendations of appropriate progressive changes in Alabama’s workers’ compensation law.  The purpose of this task force is not to lobby for law changes, but to continue with the Bar’s ongoing effort to collaborate with the Alabama Legislature to provide legal/educational perspective of ways our state can improve the administration of justice.
