Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is the busiest passenger airport in the world. The Senior Attorney position will support the Airport in a variety of complex legal matters. The position requires substantial general legal experience working on a variety of commercial advice and counsel matters (e.g. real estate, contracts, construction, finance, procurement of goods and services, FOIA/open records requests, tax, or federal regulatory and local legislative matters).
The role involves extensive contact with all levels of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the City of Atlanta’s Law Department, Atlanta City Council, multiple city departments and the governing bodies of other municipalities and airports, as well as extensive contact with Metropolitan Atlanta and global communities.
Experience with airport law matters, tax matters, intergovernmental agreements and regulatory compliance is preferred but not required.
Applicants should be seasoned attorneys who can demonstrate strong interest in providing advice and counsel to clients, strong written and verbal communication skills, outstanding judgment and excellent analytical, negotiation and interpersonal skills are also required.
Applicants with prior experience representing an airport, municipality, other governmental/quasi-governmental entity, or applicants in the transportation industry are strongly encouraged to apply.
Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctorate degree required.
- Must be a member in good standing with a state bar within the U.S. and have the ability to obtain membership in the State Bar of Georgia within one (1) year of employment.
- Must have a minimum of ten (10) years of post-graduate experience.
- Experience in municipal, county, and/or constitutional law.
- Demonstrated experience with aviation law is a plus.
