Evictions Defense Project Attorney
Legal Services Alabama (LSA) is one of the largest statewide law firms in Alabama. As a non-profit law firm, our mission is to serve low-income people by providing civil legal aid and by promoting collaboration to find solutions to problems of poverty. LSA seeks applications from qualified attorneys committed to supporting our mission.
LSA is seeking two full-time staff attorneys. One position will be based in the Northern Region of Alabama and the other position in the Southern Region of the state. LSA has eight regional offices. Each position will be supervised and managed by the Regional Office Managing Attorney to which the staff attorney is assigned.
The attorney will assist in civil matters related to legal rights, benefits and entitlements through legal advice, counseling and representation to citizens referred from mental health service center. Additionally, the attorney will provide community legal education for the consumers of the service centers.
This project is funded by a grant through the Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH) for an Eviction Defense Project.
- Admitted to practice in the State of Alabama.

- Sensitivity towards low-income population.
- Strong legal writing and communication skills.
- Bilingual a plus.
Salary: $50,750 DOE; Excellent benefits to include medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; training.
