Summer 2022 Clerkship Program

LSA is seeking law students dedicated to serving low income communities and increasing access to justice across Alabama for our Summer 2022 Law Clerk Program. Summer clerks will assist LSA attorneys in representing clients, conducting legal research, drafting documents and memoranda, and supporting all aspects of the provision of legal aid services.

Summer Law Clerks also participate in our statewide Clerkship training program, our firmwide practice groups, and are able to take advantage of other timely and innovative initiatives and projects. Law students may be assigned to a particular office and/or practice area and will have strong mentors while expanding and enhancing client access and services.

Applicants are asked to express in their cover letter any preferences for location (Montgomery, Selma, Mobile, Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Anniston, Huntsville, or fully remote) and/or area of interests in the law. Summer Law Clerks typically work full time for 6 weeks sessions, split into either first or second half. LSA also offers full 12 week placement for a limited number of exceptional students.

This year’s Summer Clerkship program begins on May 23rd.
