Attend Reception and Oral Arguments in Birmingham

The Supreme Court of Alabama and the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals will convene in special session at Samford University's Wright Center on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 9 a.m. View the supreme court docket here; the court of criminal appeals docket can be found here. Don't forget to join us the evening before, on Monday, Oct. 21, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., at the Birmingham Bar Association for a reception to honor the justices and judges of Alabama's appellate courts. New Expert Fee Schedule

Effective January 1, 2020, a new expert fee schedule should be utilized by appointed counsel in retaining experts in indigent defense cases. To view the memo from the Office of Indigent Defense Services, click here.


Huntsville-Madison Bar to Host Free Medicare Webinar

This Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 12 to 1 p.m., the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association will host an educational seminar on Medicare. For those interested in listening remotely, there will also be a webinar component. The registration link and more details can be found here.
