Join Us for a Reception in Birmingham

The Alabama State Bar and the Birmingham Bar Association invite you to a reception to honor the Justices of the Supreme Court of Alabama and Judges of the Alabama Appellate Courts on Monday, Oct. 21, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., at the Birmingham Bar Association Building. Then, join us the following morning at 9 a.m. for a special session of oral arguments to be held at Samford University. 

Leadership Forum Application Deadline Oct. 21 

Applications for the 15th class of the Alabama State Bar Leadership Forum can be found here. The deadline to submit applications is Oct. 21 by 5 p.m. We are thrilled to bring back this dynamic program that nurtures and develops leadership skills among a select group of qualified, promising lawyers!

Renewal of Annual License
 
Annual license and membership fees for 2019-2020 are now past due. Payments may be made online or you can print a voucher to mail with your check. Occupational license payments made after Oct. 31 will be subject to a statutory late fee. You will not receive a paper invoice. Members purchasing an occupational license must complete the annual IOLTA certification. The certification is now completed as part of the annual license renewal. 

Position Vacancy: Assistant United States Attorney

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Alabama is seeking applications for an AUSA vacancy. Although trial experience is not necessary, it is preferred, and the desire to appear in court and try cases is a must.  The selected applicant will be responsible for prosecuting a variety of criminal cases. The application deadline is Oct. 18; find full details here.

Public Notice of Open Judicial Seat 

The Jefferson County Judicial Commission is now accepting applications to fill Place 16 in the circuit court, criminal division. Email applications and questions here. The submission time frame is Monday, Oct. 14 to Friday, Oct. 25 at 5 p.m.
