The Birmingham Bar Association Annual Meeting          

Birmingham Bar members are invited to attend the 2019 Annual Membership Meeting on Dec. 13, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Birmingham Bar Center. Meet the winners of the Public Service Award and Lifetime Achievement Award, learn who won the elections for 2020 Executive Committee positions and hear a preview of the BBA's plans for 2020.The meeting is designed to last one hour, so members can move on to the Annual Membership Party at 5:30 p.m.

Free CLE and Luncheon

The Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution will provide a free lunch and free 1.5 hour CLE entitled “Mediation Perspectives: A Roundtable Discussion” on Dec. 16. Join Jimmy Walter (Capell & Howard) as he moderates a panel discussion providing a lawyer’s, judges’ and mediator’s perspective with Hon. James Anderson (15th Judicial Circuit), Barbara Wells (Capell & Howard) and Nika Gholston (Law Office of Nika Gholston). Space is limited to 30 registrants, and you must register by Dec. 10.  

Jones School of Law Promotes On-Campus Interview Program

Representatives from law firms and other organizations are invited to hold interviews at Jones School Law School to recruit students for internships, employment and attorney positions. There is no charge for this service, and employers may use Faulkner’s facilities for interviewing law students. Click here to read more.

Orangetheory Fitness Member Benefit Update

Alabama State Bar Members are eligible receive a discounted rate of $149 for Premier memberships (unlimited classes per month) and $89 for Elite memberships (eight classes per month) as well as one complimentary class. Last week, The Scoop mentioned that ASB members need to sign up by Dec. 31 in order to receive the discount; however, the discount is available year-round!
