Young Lawyers' Section Orange Beach CLE

The Young Lawyers Section is hosting its annual Orange Beach CLE on May 14-17, at the Perdido Beach Resort. The CLE will include a panel of federal judges and an entire day devoted to business development and legal marketing. This course is pending approval by the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Committee of Alabama for a maximum of 6 hours credit including 1.0 hours of ethics.  You can register at this link and check the YLS Facebook page for updates.

Don't Forget about the #CLE163 Program in 2020

You can render service while completing your CLE requirements! The CLE 1-6-3 Program, adopted by the Alabama State Bar, allows attorneys to receive 1 hour of CLE credit for every 6 hours of pro bono work completed through an approved pro bono provider, for a maximum of 3 CLE credits in a year. Alabama State Bar Seeks Applicants for Paralegal/Investigator in the Office of General Counsel

The ASB Office of General Counsel has an open position for a paralegal/investigator to support the day-to-day operations of the Disciplinary Division of the Office of General Counsel. The work includes the handling of possible disciplinary and civil matters involving ASB members. The deadline for applications is Feb. 28, although the position may be filled prior to that date if a candidate meets the requisite qualifications. Cordell Hull Speakers Forum Featuring ABA President Judy Perry Martinez

Cumberland School of Law will host its annual Cordell Hull Speakers Forum on Apr. 8, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Memory Leake Robinson Hall. Judy Perry Martinez, president of the American Bar Association (ABA), is the keynote speaker. Martinez will discuss the ABA and its work to promote equal justice, diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and justice system, and the rule of law. Cumberland alumni, students, faculty, staff and members of the Birmingham and Alabama legal communities are invited to attend.
