Wellness CLE: Assessing Bandwidth and Setting Boundaries – Essential Tools for Pandemic Life

November 10, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

The COVID-19 crisis, racial protests, and civil unrest have led many of us to wonder some days if we are surviving, thriving, or somewhere in between. While crisis periods can be extremely difficult, they can also provide opportunities to grow.

Prior to the pandemic, knowing how to assess your personal bandwidth—your mental and emotional capacity to deal with situations, was important. Now, it has become essential. Knowing what creates “your” stress and how you manage ups and downs will enable you to move forward in a helpful, productive way. Lawyers often have difficulty setting healthy boundaries. Not having boundaries in place can quickly lead to feeling overwhelmed and burned out. While boundaries can be difficult to set, they provide freedom, space to manage stress, and ultimately, they allow you to grow.

Dr. Rachel Fry is a psychologist and consultant who specializes in legal wellness. Join her for this interactive, engaging CLE training. You will learn how to notice your own bandwidth, effective ways to manage stress, and how to set boundaries in your work and personal life. To sum it up, you will leave feeling this CLE feeling more empowered and equipped to move into the future—the next phase of this “uncertain normal.”
