Attorney Wellness

“The time is now to use your experience, status, and leadership to construct a profession built on greater well-being, increased competence, and greater public trust.” -ABA 2017 National Task Force Report on Lawyer Well-Being

The Alabama State Bar’s Quality of Life, Health and Wellness Task Force is working to make lawyer well-being a top priority. The group’s purpose is to explore programs, accumulate information and educate members about wellness issues and resources and develop a CLE to be offered to members throughout the state. In addition, the task force will formulate a plan to celebrate May as Mental Health Awareness Month.

Wellness Month: May

The Quality of Life, Health and Wellness Task Force is organizing an Attorney Wellness Month for the month of May. In addition to offering a free, online wellness CLE and disseminating wellness tips through the bar’s website, newsletter and social media sites, there is also a wellness challenge among attorneys throughout the state.

Walking Wednesday

Take part in our Walking Wednesday initiative. Each Wednesday during the month of May, walk with a friend or get a group of colleagues together and log any time spent walking on the Alabama State Bar Wellness Page. The individuals and local bars with the most logged minutes will be recognized in The Scoop.
