Allison Skinner Honored with Commissioners Award

MIRIMAR BEACH, Fla. and MONTGOMERY, Ala.—The Alabama State Bar has awarded Allison Skinner the 2022 Commissioners Award.

Skinner was presented with the award at the 145th Annual Meeting of the Alabama State Bar on June 25, 2022, at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Miramar Beach, Fla. Skinner was celebrated for the many ways she has impacted her community and profession.

Skinner is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law. She is deputy general counsel of Cadence Bank, where she focuses on corporate governance, risk management, litigation and various corporate matters. She is a Certified Corporate Governance Professional by the Society for Corporate Governance.

Alabama State Bar President Taze Shepard said, “The Alabama State Bar is proud to award Allison Skinner with the Commissioners Award. She has been dedicated to the improvement of the administration of justice in Alabama for many years.”

Skinner serves as the Birmingham Bar Association President. She is serving her third elected term as an Alabama State Bar Commissioner. Skinner is also the recipient of the Alabama State Bar Award of Merit, the Susan B. Livingston Leadership Award and President’s Award. She was recently inducted into the Women’s Committee of 100, which promotes the best of Birmingham and is a graduate of Leadership Birmingham.

“Allison Skinner is very deserving of this award,” Alabama State Bar Executive Director Terri Lovell said. “We have all benefited from her contributions to the Alabama State Bar.”
