MCLE Commission Extends Virtual Accommodation for Annual CLE Requirement
Published on February 14, 2022
The Alabama State Bar’s MCLE Commission has extended its suspension of MCLE Regulation 3.1 through Dec. 31, 2022. Regulation 3.1 requires that a minimum of 6 credit hours of the 12 credit hours required annually must be earned through attendance at in-person or livestreamed ASB-approved programs. This accommodation allows Alabama attorneys the flexibility of satisfying their full annual CLE requirement (12 hours, including 1 ethics hour) with approved on-demand and/or virtual courses.
You can read the Alabama State Bar Rules for Mandatory Continuing Legal Education here. Questions relating to MCLE credits and courses can be directed to Cathy Sue McCurry, Licensing and Regulatory Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
