Want Fun in the Sun? Sign Up Now!

If you haven’t already registered for the Alabama State Bar’s Annual Meeting & Legal Expo 2011 (July 13-16) at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, you can do so online now. And if you sign up by June 30th, you’ll save $50.

Legendary litigator Michael Tigar will kick off the meeting with his “Nine Principles of Litigation and Life.” In all, the meeting offers 16 hours of CLE credit, including Thomas Morgan on “A Transforming Profession: The Challenges Ahead”, Jack Newton on “Ethics and Security of Cloud-Based Technology” and Catherine Reach of the ABA Legal Technology Resource Center on “The Future is Now: Technologies to Serve Today’s Clients.” There will also be programs on the virtual law office, as well as judicial panel discussions and update programs by the bar’s most active sections, just to name a few. All in all, the Annual Meeting is the best CLE value around and, regardless of your practice setting or your interests, you’ll find something to engage you.  Check out the full list of programs.

In addition to the CLE offerings. we’ve planned lots of fun activities for singles and families alike, including South of the Border Fiesta Night, The Perfect Cocktail, a Build-A-Bear Workshop, sailing on the Joshua, and tennis, golf and the Legal Run-Around, a 1 mile fun run/walk and 5K run. The law school receptions and President’s Closing Night Celebration will give you an opportunity to catch up with people you haven’t seen in ages, and make some new friends, too.

This year’s Grand Prize, once again graciously provided by ISI Alabama, is a week-long retreat at Parc Soliel Orlando, including Disney World tickets. You must be present to win, and why wouldn’t you want to be?
