Attorney Wellness Month Plans and Resources

The Quality of Life, Health & Wellness Committee has planned a full slate of events and offerings to recognize the month of May as ASB Wellness Month for Lawyers and Judges and May 2 through 6 as National Well-Being Week in Law! The goal is to raise awareness and educate lawyers and judges about wellness and the importance of self-care.

This week, national Well-Being Week in Law, there are daily resources for you to share to your social media accounts.

  • May 2: Physical Well-Being
  • May 3: Spiritual Well-Being
  • May 4: Career and Intellectual Well-Being
  • May 5: Social Well-Being
  • May 6: Emotional Well-Being

Walking Wednesdays

Every Wednesday in May is “Walking Wednesday.” Take the opportunity to walk with a friend or colleague, and log your time spent walking here. The individuals and local bars with the most logged minutes will be recognized in The Scoop.

Wellness Month Challenge

Each day of the month, there is a challenge for the day relating to exercise, eating healthy, hydration, meditation, yoga, etc. We encourage you to take part in the day’s suggested activity, post about it on your favorite social media site and tag @AlabamaStateBar.

Each day this week, the Well Being in Law Institute will offer free wellness webinars entitled, Spiritual Practices to Foster Greater Purpose in your Everyday Life; Writing for Well-Beingand Emotion Regulation Practices for Legal Professionals. Learn more and register here. Note, these are not approved for Alabama CLE credit.

You can also join the Alabama chapter of the Mindfulness in Law Society (MILS) for free, guided meditations via Zoom.
