$#*%!!! I can’t log in. Again!!!
Published on June 25, 2008
We’ve been hearing that complaint a lot here at bar headquarters since we changed the log-in procedure for the password protected area of Alabar, our web site. But don’t despair. The new protocol is not difficult.
In order to start the process, go to the home page of the bar’s website at www.alabar.org. Directly under the header which reads “Alabama State Bar” and “Lawyers Render Service” you will see the login boxes, which are now at the top of every page on the website. Beneath the Password box you’ll see a link that says Click here to use the new login procedure. When you click on this link you’ll be taken to a page that will allow you to select a new user ID and password of your choice. Once on this Login Help page, you’ll see a box to type in your email address and bar ID number, along with blanks to create your new user ID and enter your new password twice for verification.
The only requirements for your user name and password is that they must each be at least five characters long, but no more than 15. They can contain numbers, letters and symbols, but no blank spaces.
Once you have filled in the blanks, be sure to hit the “Submit” button. Otherwise, your input will not be saved and your new user ID and password will not be recorded.
What if you create a new user ID and password, but can’t remember them later? That’s easy. On the Login Help page there is another box for retrieving your user name or password. (You can’t get both at once.) Just enter your email address and bar ID number, choose whether you want your User ID or your password, and then click the “Submit” button. The answer will automatically be emailed to you instantly.
