Associate Attorney
SUMMARY:
Represent law firm clients including lenders, investors, financial institutions, large and small businesses. Applicants should be a licensed attorney in good standing in the state of Alabama. Candidates with 0-3 years of experience and candidates that have recently graduated from law school and have applied for the Alabama Bar will be considered. This position involves practicing law in the areas of real estate, Workers Comp, Estate/Probate Law, and litigation. We do not expect candidates to have experience or be proficient in each of these areas. This is a full time, in-office position.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Family Law:
- Handle legal matters related to family relationships,
- providing advice, drafting legal documents, negotiating,
- representing clients in court for issues like divorce, child custody, and adoption
Estate Planning:
- Help clients create legally binding plans for managing and distribution their assets during life and after death.
- Drafting wills, trusts, and powers of attorney as well as advising on related matters.
Litigation:
- Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare for trials, hearings, and depositions.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes.
- General Responsibilities:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to provide comprehensive legal services.
- Manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and effective client service.
