Part-Time or Full-Time Assistant District Attorney

Alabama’s 4th Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office (4JCDA) covers Bibb, Dallas, Hale, Perry and Wilcox Counties. The main office is located in historic Selma at the Dallas County Courthouse.

Job Description:

The 4JCDA currently is seeking an attorney experienced in prosecuting violent and/or other serious felony offenses. The individual in this role primarily will be responsible for handling circuit court cases but also may be requested to handle certain district court matters. The attorney’s chief assignment will involve cases in one or more of the 4JCDA’s four satellite offices (Centreville, Greensboro, Marion or Camden), though the attorney may be asked to travel to and assist with matters pending in the main office from time to time.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a Juris Doctorate and be an active member of the Alabama State Bar. Applicants should have excellent writing and oral communication skills, good character, a strong work ethic, strong computer skills, as well as the ability to work well with others or independently.

Level of Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience as a prosecutor is required. RETIREES ARE WELCOME TO APPLY.

Salary: Depends on experience and whether work is part- or full-time.
